JK Sends Condolences Following Bomb Explosion At Arusha Rally

President Jakaya Kikwete has sent his condolences to relatives who have lost their beloved ones and those injured at the Saturday’s bomb attack in Arusha while the Chandema rally was progressing.

According to a State House’s statement issued on Sunday, President Kikwete also sent his condolences to Chadema leaders following the brutal and shocking incident.

He directed security and defence organs to take appropriate measure against the incident, as well as conducting immediate investigation to identify, arrest and take those in connection with the bomb attack before the law regardless of where they are from.

He also ordered the concerned authorities to ensure that those injured get proper treatment in hospital.

Meanwhile, in his greetings to Arusha Regional Commissioner Magesa Mulongo, Kikwete said: “I’ve received the news on the blast at the Chadema rally in Arusha on Saturday with big shock and deep sorrows … I direct you to inform the Chadema leaders that the difficult period they are going through is ours too.

I want them to know that we are together during this hardship period of mourning”. However, Kikwete called upon wananchi to assist the security and defence organs in their investigative work on what had happened.
